About

Scott Etan Feiner is a young composer with a long history of bending the rules in classical music. His ability to improvise—and his inability to stick within strict stylistic boundaries—led him to eventually compose original music. His compositions have been performed by the French Woods Festival Orchestra, the Juventas New Music Ensemble and the Lumina String Quartet among others. He has earned a variety of honors and awards, such as the Society of New Music’s Brian Israel Prize for young composers, the Tribeca New Music Young Composer Competition award, and the New York State award from the Music Teachers’ National Association Young Composer Competition.

Now an undergrad at Yale University, Scott continues to study composition with Kathryn Alexander and Konrad Kaczmarek. He’s a proud member of the Spizzwinks(?) and in his spare time he cooks and practices aerial silk.
